As Stone Meets Sea
As Stone Meets Sea
We’re always really excited when we get to work with brands and businesses that are local to us here in Dorset.
We chose to build our agency on the south coast because it’s where we grew up, it’s where we love. Dorset is beautiful, the rugged UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast is on our doorstep, and when we experience wins (or losses) we head to the seafront and enjoy a glass of rosé as we look out over the blue waters of Weymouth Bay.
That’s not to say it’s always plain-sailing, we spend A LOT of time on trains in and out of London, we sometimes get looked at as a ‘local agency’, and we exert a lot of energy explaining that we have exceptional and long-term media contacts – just like agencies in cities.
However, when we connect with a client like Pennsylvania Castle Estate, our Dorset location works in our favour. The team at The Penn are incredibly proud of the Estate’s stunning location, and are passionate about the Isle of Portland and all it has to offer. To further celebrate Portland and the Jurassic Coast, Pennsylvania Castle Estate invested millions in a stunning new luxury development of lodges which sit just below the Estate, hewn into the cliff edge. It was our job to launch Clifftops to our media contacts across luxury, travel and lifestyle sectors.
We began this launch by negotiating an exclusive with The Daily Telegraph, the journalist was one of the first visitors to Clifftops and he was mesmerised from the off.
Once this hit news-stands we focused on sharing the Clifftops message with top media contacts. The launch of Clifftops was featured in VOGUE’s cultural edit for the month of October, it was picked up by ELLE Decoration, STYLIST, Conde Nast Traveller, Town & Country, PSYCHOLOGIES and the i newspaper to name but a few.
To keep this project at the forefront of media minds, we are also running an ongoing, tailored, press trip experience for key contacts. This month we look forward to welcoming COAST Magazine and ELLE to Clifftops, and The Daily Telegraph again next month.
We work closely with the team at Clifftops to ensure each journalist experience is unique and a realistic example of what guests at Clifftops experience themselves. The feedback we get back is outstanding. We also work with local providers to enhance the trip – horse riding along the coast? Not a problem. Local fine dining? We’ll book you a table. We’re passionate about showing all our local area has to offer – we’re proud of it too.
