Long MAY she reign
We’re planning ahead to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this month with Jubilee photoshoots and lots of Jubilee social media to tie into this unique key date and news hook.
“Insider tip – there are lots of free tools and software that can help with your comms approach.”
In order to make the most of this one-off event we will utilise lots of tools and software to help us plan ahead and manage our marketing strategies in the most efficient way possible. For us, this could be scheduling information or press releases to go out to the media at exactly the right time. It could be using software to research blogs and websites to decide whether the traffic is worth us sending out samples or loaning products. Or it could be scheduling social in advance so we have more time on the day to capture what’s happening in the moment.
Here are some of our favourites:
Lauren – We use designers for the majority of our design work, but I love Canva for when you want to quickly put something together yourself. It is worth paying for the app, although you can use it for free for more simple designs. The app offers lots of templates for you to use – there are loads of tutorials on YouTube on how to make the most of it and when you’re pitching and want to give something the edge, a great image or infographic can really help.
Pippa – When it comes to managing your CRM and building your repeat business, tools such as MailChimp or Klaviyo are where we direct our product clients. These services allow you to build sales funnels, link in with key dates, and tailor your digital marketing to your ideal customer. We have a great team that offers this if you’re looking to outsource.
Sophie – Hootsuite saves me so much time when scheduling social media for clients. It helps you keep track and manage your many social network channels. It enables you to monitor what people are saying about your brand and you can view streams from multiple networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin and post updates. With so many networks for businesses to manage, it’s no doubt Social Media Management tools have become so popular and relied upon by many companies today.
It might take some time to familiarise yourself with these tools, but in the long run they can add structure and save you from agonising over what you’re doing next with your strategy.
